LORE & HISTORY

The name Aegirine originates from the Teutonic god of the sea, Ægir, and came into use when the first specimens of the mineral were discovered in Norway. The stone is also referred to as Acmite, which is a Greek word that translates to ‘point’.

HOW TO USE AEGIRINE

Aegirine supports those struggling with mental health issues by helping to disrupt tedious, negative routines and instead inspire positive self-focus. It also assists with summoning the strength to address chronic imbalances such as addiction.

Aegirine is a sodium iron silicate that belongs to the pyroxene group. Aegirine is dark green, to greenish-black, brownish-black or black. The crystal habit includes long prismatic crystals terminated by a steep asymmetrical pyramid. The thin edges of the crystal can be translucent green. Aegirine has been found in Canada, Norway, Greenland, Russia, the USA, Kenya, Scotland, and Nigeria.
