LORE & HISTORY

In the Middle Ages, Ammolite was known as Draconite. Due to its bright colors and what was then considered a bizarre appearance, it was thought to be a gemstone stolen from a dragon’s head. More recently it has been referred to as Snakestone as well as St. Hilda Stone.
