Gigi’s Bio:

I am the daughter of Alice Modig, daughter of Sarah Peele, daughter of Lizzie Eaton, daughter of Emily Reece, daughter of Susan Buxton, all in the spirit world.

I am Tsimshian, Raven in the House of a Frog. I am Haida as well. I currently reside on Duwamish land.

Some of my gifts I was born with and used my whole life, some I had to earn.

I asked to see my spirit guides in 2005. I didn’t understand anything when I met them. But that moment stays with me.

My maternal grandmother passed away in 2012. She was the first spirit I knew was communicating with me from the spirit world. She always came to comfort me when I was afraid and gave me strength. I needed it to care for my mom.

I invited all of my ancestors into my heart in October 2013. I didn’t understand how to work with them. I didn’t know whose voices were whose.

Less than 2 years after my grandmother passed, my mom passed away while I sat with her. She told me she would never leave us, she didn’t. Each of her 6 children have a strong, yet different connection with her.

11/11/15: my son went missing on Deer Mt in Ketchikan, AK. My family and I looked for him, climbing the mountain all different ways for a month. Every time I came down, I would break. When I had to fly back home, I shattered. My son was 1 of 4 missing indigenous men in Ketchikan in a 1 year period.

My son’s limited remains were found in the spring. We had to wait for DNA to come back. My human mind didn’t understand life. What does all of this mean?

I found Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, MMIW. I understood on such a deep level that they may never get their family back. I had to heal to be there for them. Each healing transformed my pain and trauma into medicine. I continued to get stronger so I could help the families, give them a safe space to share their story, give them my medicine, and help them create their own medicine.

I am also a birth keeper, a mother’s helper. It’s a rebirth for everyone involved. This has evolved into helping support people during their spiritual rebirths.

I have accepted every healing opportunity I could utilize. The most effective Healings have been through Indigenous Ceremony. Once I was healed, I danced for my family, MMIW, for the people, for our Mother Earth.

My connection to the spirit world continues to be with my ancestors. I communicate with them in a variety of ways. We work together in creating an opportunity for people to heal. Once the opportunity is created, we bring the energy, tools, clear the space, but it is you who must heal. I will support you while you make your way through your unknown.

You will want to label my gifts to understand them, please don’t. I am awake. I am aware. I am conscious. I See. I feel. I understand.

This is my maternal medicine. I have paternal medicine through my Haida bloodline as well. My dad was passed the family medicine by his great grandfather, our last one trained in the old ways. My dad opened the spirit world to me when my maternal grandmother passed away. I am 2 Spirit and carry both masculine and feminine medicines.

N’Doyukshn for allowing me to introduce myself. I look forward to sharing my medicine with you if you feel called to it.
