BLUE LACE AGATE

Agate is a chalcedony or cryptocrystalline quartz. It grows in pockets or geodes in a solution of Silicon Dioxide over many hundreds or thousands of years, as minerals slowly seep through the soil. Blue Lace Agate is one of the rarest varieties of agate, found originally in Namibia, later in Scotland in an area called the Blue Hole. The Ellensburg Blue Agate, found in Washington State was prized for centuries by native american tribes as an extremely spiritual stone. These stones can be very expensive, due to their rarity. Their color is a pale sky blue with white banding, though sometimes bright blue, gray & brownish areas are present as well. Many stones found as geodes contain druzy crystals in the middle.
