HENDENBERGITE IN QUARTZ
GREEN MONGOLIAN QUARTZ

(Mongolia)

Hedenbergite is the iron rich end member of the pyroxene group having a monoclinic crystal system. It is almost never found on its own, and in this case, is found with quartz. Most specimens are opaque dark green, but it can also be found as sprays within quartz or as translucent green quartz. This type of opaque green quartz is only found in Mongolia, and is almost always skeletal (where the edges of the pyramidal sides have grown faster than the faces, giving an appearance of window frames) and/or elestial (where small crystals grow on the rhombohedral faces of the greater crystal) in form.

Associated with the heart chakra, zodiac sign of Sagittarius & vibrates to the number 111, or 3.
