HOWLITE

A calcium borosilicate hydroxide mineral found in evaporite deposits. Discovered near Nova Scotia in 1868 by Henry How, and given the name Howlite after his death. Howlite most commonly forms irregular nodules, with crystals being extremely rare & colorless & translucent to transparent. Nodules are white with fine black to gray weblike veins.
