LEMON CHRYSOPRASE

(Australia)

This stone is actually a nickel bearing variety of Magnesite, a magnesium carbonate mineral. Lemon Chrysoprase is a misnomer, but the name has stuck. It was likely misnamed due to both green chrysoprase and nickel magnesite being found in the same location. Its color is a light whitish yellow to whitish lime green color, and it is found in massive form. It is mined in Western Australia & in California.
