NATROLITE

Named in 1803, Natrolite is a hydrated sodium aluminum tectosilicate mineral belonging to the zeolite group. It occurs with other zeolites in amygdaloidal cavities of basaltic igneous rocks. It forms needle-like sprays in radial arrangements. It is usually colorless to white, but may be reddish or yellowish. It’s needles are vitreous to silky in luster & will easily melt in a candle flame.
