YELLOW BRUCITE

(Baluchistan, Pakistan)

A magnesium hydroxide mineral that forms in low temperature hydrothermal veins in metamorphic limestone and in marble. It is commonly found near or with serpentine, calcite, dolomite & magnesite. Brucite crystalizeas in masses, plates, crusts, fibers, botryoidal and tabular crystals. It is found in the colors blue, green, yellow, white, pink, red and colorless. Discovered in 1824 and named after American minerologist Archibald Bruce. Found in many locations around the world, the yellow variety is found predominantly in Pakistan.
