SPIRITUAL HEALING PROPERTIES OF ALLANITE

Allanite serves as an amplifier, meaning it can enhance the energy around it and make that energy easier to perceive. When used in a positive environment or during a joyous time, this crystal complements the good vibrations by projecting them outward. However, caution must be exercised as it exerts the same influence on negative energy. Because of this, one should avoid wearing or carrying this stone during times of emotional distress.

Allanite additionally has a grounding quality that helps the user navigate stressful or unpredictable situations. It does so by lessening confusion and prompting one to focus on their positive hopes and intentions rather than getting swept up in the chaos. This makes Allanite a wonderful companion for seeking understanding and clarity in otherwise murky situations.

PHYSICAL HEALING PROPERTIES OF ALLANITE

Allanite supports the user’s vitality, granting energy and strengthening the physical body. Because of this, it also helps to stimulate and regulate the immune system. This stone even speeds recovery from fatigue due to physical exertion.

LORE & HISTORY

Allanite derives its name from Thomas Allan, the Scottish mineralogist who first observed the mineral in 1810. Due to its relatively recent discovery, this mineral has no known associations with mythology or ancient civilizations.

HOW TO USE ALLANITE

On the Body: Wear or hold during meditation to assist with focusing on your intentions.

Inside: Place in an area used for recreation or connecting with others to enhance positive vibrations.

Outside: Allanite should not be exposed to the elements due to the presence of toxic mineral inclusions.

CLEANING AND CLEANSING ALLANITE

Physical Cleaning: Clean Allanite with canned air to remove dust and debris.

Energetic Cleansing: There are numerous ways to energetically cleanse Allanite.

  • Set on or next to Selenite or Satin Spar, or set in lavender.
  • Use smoke from herb bundles or incense.
  • Charge under the full moonlight.

ALLANITE TOXICITY AND POTENTIAL ALLERGENS

“Allanite is one of the most common rare earth minerals; up to 20% of allanite’s weight could be composed of these rare earth elements/ores. Because of these rare earth metals, especially thorium, which are frequently radioactive, allanite is frequently slightly radioactive.” – galleries.com/allanite

GEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

The name Allanite refers to not just the stone itself but also a group of minerals associated with the Epidote group. The International Mineralogical Association recognizes 4 types of Allanite, each of which contains significant amounts of rare earth elements.

Each type is associated with a different rare element present in the stone.  Allanite(Ce) contains Cerium, Allanite(La) contains Lanthanum, Allanite(Nd) contains Neodymium & Allanite(Y) contains Yttrium.

Many forms of Allanite contain radioactive elements which affect the surrounding rock and minerals. These elements cause surrounding crystals to eventually lose their structure and become puddles of amorphous minerals.

This crystal ranges in color from black to brown to violet. Allanite is pyrognomic, meaning it exhibits thermoluminescence at the low temperature of 95℉. When heated to higher temperatures, it bubbles and melts into a dull amorphous glass.

Allanite can be found in many places around the world, but only in small amounts.
