LORE & HISTORY
Named for the Chara River in Siberia, Charoite was first described in 1978. To this day it has only been found in the Sakha Republic of Russian Siberia. Due to its rarity and very recent discovery, Charoite has no widely known associations or lore to speak of.
HOW TO USE CHAROITE
On the Body: Wear Charoite as jewelry or carry in a pocket or purse as a reminder to stay anchored and positive in the present moment.

CLEANING AND CLEANSING CHAROITE
Physical Cleaning: Clean Charoite with canned air to remove dust and debris. Charoite can also be cleaned with a mild soap or detergent and rinsed, or it can be wiped down with a damp cloth.
Energetic Cleansing: There are numerous ways to energetically cleanse Charoite.
- Set on or next to Selenite or Satin Spar, or set in lavender.
- Use smoke from herb bundles or incense.
- Cleanse using the water method by running it under cool water with your fingers pointed toward the drain of the sink. Do this for about 30 seconds. Dry gently with a towel, and set out to dry completely.
- Charge under the full moonlight.

GEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Charoite is a complex and very rare potassium, barium, calcium, strontium, sodium, and hydrogen-rich silicate mineral. It grows exclusively in massive form and displays a swirling, fibrous, and occasionally chatoyant appearance. This gemstone’s colors range from translucent lavender to purple with black and white inclusions, which are the result of Quartz and Manganese inclusions.
Charoite can be found growing together with the minerals Tinaksite and Canasite.
