QUARTZ WITH AJOITE

Quartz crystals with inclusions of Ajoite, pronounced Ah-hoe-ite, & named after the Ajo district in Pima county Arizona. Only found there & in South Africa. A sodium potassium copper aluminum silicate hydroxide mineral in a bright blue reminiscent of tropical ocean waters. Ajoite occurs in sprays of bladed prismatic crystals. It may form from Shattuckite or be replaced by it during formation. Quartz with Ajoite is rare & highly sought after by collectors
