TIGER IRON
/MUGGLESTONE

A stone with banded layers of Tiger’s Eye, Hematite & Red Jasper. Tiger’s Eye is a variety of Quartz and a pseudomorph of Crocidolite. It forms when Crocidolite’s parallel amphibole fibers are replaced by silica. Hematite is a common iron oxide & Red Jasper is an opaque cryptocrystalline quartz. This is a very old stone which is estimated to have formed 2.2 billion years ago.
